Le train de jardin au 7 pouces 1/4 est avant tout un projet construit pour le plaisir. L’idée est simple : poser de la voie, faire rouler quelques wagons, expérimenter, apprendre, et avancer à son propre rythme.
Le développement de ce projet suivra une progression naturelle. D’abord la voie, posée pas à pas dans le jardin, pour créer un premier parcours utilisable, puis la construction de celle-ci. Ensuite viendra la construction des wagons. Enfin, avec l’expérience acquise, se profilera, sans doute l’envie d’aller plus loin : l’arrivée d’une machine à vapeur, étape emblématique pour donner une nouvelle dimension au réseau.
The 7¼-inch garden railway is above all a project built for enjoyment. The idea is simple: lay some track, run a few wagons, experiment, learn, and move forward at a relaxed pace.
The project will develop naturally over time. The first step is laying the track, gradually installed in the garden to create an initial route that can already be used. This will then be followed by building the infrastructure itself.
Next will come the construction of the wagons. And finally, as experience grows, the temptation to go a little further will probably appear: the arrival of a steam locomotive — a landmark step that would give a whole new dimension to the railway.
